WHAT IS DIABETES…?
So basically, Diabetes is a chronic condition associated with abnormally high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. Insulin produced by the pancreas lowers blood glucose. Absence or insufficient production of insulin, or an inability of the body to properly use insulin causes diabetes.
TYPES OF DIABETES..??
Mainly there are two types of diabetes,
TYPES 1 DIABETES :
When the body loses the ability to make insulin or can only make a very small amount of insulin. Type 1 diabetes is usually caused by an autoimmune process, and your body’s immune system mistakenly destroys the insulin-producing cells. About 10% of individuals with diabetes have type 1 diabetes.
TYPE 2 DIABETES :
Caused by a dual defect of resistance to the action of insulin combined with an inability to make enough insulin to overcome the resistance. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and represents 80% to 90% of diabetes worldwide.
So let’s see the diabetic food chart you should follow while you are suffering from or detected diabetes…
1) BITTER GOURD
This food is famous for treating diabetes naturally hence it tops the diabetic diet chart list. It is also known as Kerala. It contains a chemical called keratin in it. It controls urine and blood glucose levels. It purifies the blood. It can be taken in liquid form as bitter gourd juice or you can cook the vegetable too.
2) FENUGREEK SEEDS
Another famous food for curing diabetes naturally is fenugreek seeds. It controls the blood sugar level. It stimulates pancreas which increases the production of insulin.
Take 1-2 tbsp fenugreek seeds. Add it to fresh water. Soak it overnight. You can chew the soaked seeds in the morning and have the soaked water after it or else just drain the water and drink it. Make sure you drink this every morning.
Cinnamon reduces blood sugar level by stimulating the production of insulin. One can use it in curries or in tea for flavours.
Take some water and boil it for 10 mins. Add cinnamon sticks to it. Boil it for 5 mins. Drain. Have this water every morning on an empty stomach.
4) BASIL LEAVES
Basil leaves have many medicinal properties. It enhances the secretion of insulin in our body. It has a composition of many antioxidants and essential oils which has the benefits of curing diabetes.
5) MANGO LEAVES
It has got the best glycoceramic activities that control blood sugar level and manages diabetes. This reduces the intestinal absorption of glucose which lowers glucose levels. It regulates the insulin level in blood.
We need mango leaves. Wash them and soak them in water overnight. Drain n drink this eater everyday on an empty stomach.
6) NEEM LEAVES
This is also one of the foods used for curing diabetes due to its anti hyperglycemic activities. It purifies the blood and maintains blood sugar level.
7) CURRY LEAVES
Curry leaves have many important minerals which activate beta cells of the pancreas that are responsible for the production of insulin. Curry leaves are good to prevent hereditary diabetes and also for diabetes due to obesity.
8) FLAX SEEDS
Flax seeds stimulate sugar levels as well as antioxidants. This seed helps in digestion of sugar levels as well as fats.
9) INDIAN BLACKBERRY
This is also called as jamun. You are wrong if you think this is probably one of those fruits to avoid in diabetes. It has such hyperglycemic properties that control sugar level. It can be taken in powder form or you can just chew the leaves for more benefits. The Indian blackberry is also consumed.
10) ALOE VERA
It lowers the blood sugar level for curing diabetes. it lowers blood sugar. It lowers blood glucose and blood lipid levels. Aloe vera has traditional uses as a traditional cure for diabetes. Regular use of aloe vera can cure diabetes.
